Upper temporaries and final lower veneers
Lower porcelain veneers
Cosmetic Porcelain Veneers: Case 4
This is a work in progress and it will be a combination of crowns, bridges, implants and veneers. But I’m showing you this to demonstrate what can be done for worn lower front teeth. This is a very common problem when they oppose upper porcelain crowns. This is a cosmetically driven case but it was decay under two of the crowns that got us started. When discussing her concerns this patient’s biggest complaint was about the large size of her teeth. After our evaluation we discovered that there were several other issues that needed to be addressed such as color, alignment, spaces, gum contour and wear on her natural teeth. We got started by removing the two hopeless teeth (the ones next to the upper front teeth on each side). Two implants were placed and we made custom temporary bridges for the entire upper jaw. Now we turned our attention to the worn lower front teeth. We wanted to improve upon the worn look but most importantly we wanted to protect them from further wear and change the color while we were at it. Again, this kind of wear is very common and porcelain veneers are a beautiful and conservative way to restore and protect these teeth. Now that these teeth have been restored we will wait for the implants to heal in and then proceed with the final crowns and bridges for the upper jaw. Notice how we were able to change not only the color but also the alignment and shape of the upper front teeth. On the lowers we changed the shape and color as well as diminished the spaces at the gum line.
