Implant Restorations: Case 2

This case demonstrates what is called a “fixed-removable prosthesis”. This means that it is fixed ( secured solidly in the mouth) but can be removed by the dentist if necessary. It is a bridge that replaces all of the teeth in one jaw and allows the patient to function and enjoy cosmetic benefits nearly equal to natural teeth. This patient was suffering from advanced periodontal disease and was finding it increasingly difficult to chew without pain. She was very unhappy with the way her teeth looked and wearing a full denture was not an option she wanted to consider. Now she can laugh and smile in public without feeling like she has to cover up her mouth.
